Marginal risk for severe weather across Metro Detroit

We are moving out of the dry and sunny weather to a chance for rain and thunder later today.

The first half of your Wednesday looks nice and warm as humidity creeps up a bit and we will see clouds thicken through the morning. Isolated showers possible around lunch time but a much better chance after 3pm. Highs in the low 80s feeling warmer but the clouds will keep temps from spiking and the heat index will not be a big problem today. We are under a Marginal Risk for Severe Weather this afternoon and evening as a small handful of storms could produce dangerous winds and lightning. Expect more wet weather through the evening hours.

Thursday highs in the mid 80s with a surge of summer humidity making it feel more like 90 degrees. Clouds will be pesky tomorrow and could keep temps down a bit, but we will have warm winds pumping in that heat and humidity. A cold front slowly moving in will bring another storm threat through the afternoon and evening. Right now, areas along the Ohio border are in a Marginal Risk for Severe Storms as most of us will see garden variety thundershowers through the afternoon and early evening.

Friday will be like earlier days this week…. a beautiful day full of sun and temps mainly in the 70s. That will be the case again Saturday as we stay nice and calm to start this coming weekend. Sunday will be hit or miss with a few rain and thundershowers. Make sure you download the Local4Casters app with radar and storm updates, so you’re prepared all summer long.
