Metro Detroit forecast: Calm and cloudy

High clouds keep streaming in and that means our Tuesday morning temps around Metro Detroit are on the mild side in the mid 40s to near 50 degrees as you step out.

Those cloudy skies stay with us most of the day, but our afternoon highs will still climb into the upper 60s to near 70 degrees. We are watching an large area of rain to our east spreading the clouds our way and model data suggests we can’t rule out a light shower today as some of that rain will brush by for at least a close call. Best chance for showers is Southern Ontario and east siders. But, we will likely not see a drop today. Winds are light SE 5-12 mph with an occasional gust 15-20 mph.

Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week all around SE Lower Michigan with upper 70s to 80 degrees and a chance for showers… late. Those showers hold off here around Metro Detroit during the day as we expect partly cloudy skies becoming mostly cloudy into the afternoon warming us up and breezes tomorrow SSE 5-15 mph. Shower chances increase toward the Saginaw Valley into the afternoon or evening and a few showers may hit here late or overnight into early Thursday.

Rain and scattered thundershower chances increase on Thursday, but we don’t expect an all day soaker. It looks like a fast moving line of showers will blow through midday allowing highs to still get into the low and mid 70s.  Friday looks dry and the weekend will bring the wettest weather of the week but model data is not all in synch for timing on Saturday. Sunday looks like the wetter of the weekend days now. You can always stay ahead of these Spring showers with our Local4Casters app.
