Metro Detroit forecast: Dense Fog advisory, rain and warmer temps

DETROIT – Morning rain and thunder is rolling in, especially between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. with a few areas in our North Zone possibly dealing with a brief period of freezing rain or ice.

That’s a dangerous chance or threat, but it should be short lived as temps are warming as the wet weather arrives along a warm front.

There's also a Dense Fog Advisory today until 9 a.m. for Wayne, Washtenaw, Livingston, Monroe and Lenawee counties.

Temps climbing into the upper 30s to low 40s this morning and closer to 50 degrees or warmer later this afternoon. The winds are shifting from the east to SSW 7-17 mph bringing in the warming air even with rain showers around today. Scattered rain and isolated thunder through the afternoon as we warm up.

Cloudy and cooler Wednesday with scattered snow showers possible. It will stay breezy the next few days as temps in the low to mid 30s most of the day tomorrow will feel cooler. The snow showers should be on the lighter side and a result of winds coming off of Lake Michigan.

Thursday and Friday stay cool with snow chances each day. Temps Thursday start in the teens and will warm into the mid 20s with scattered snow showers that will leave a fresh dusting. It will be a bit warmer Friday in the upper 20s to low 30s with snow more likely in the afternoon and it could be a fresh couple of inches of new snow to wrap up the work and school week.
