Metro Detroit forecast: Get ready for some rain

Wet week ahead

DETROIT – I guess Mother Nature is a Tigers fan after all!

Although some showers sneaked across the state line this afternoon, all of the rain stayed south of downtown Detroit and left everybody in and around Comerica Park dry for Opening Day. And the forecast for the week ahead will certainly make you appreciate the weather we had today.

Monday evening will be dry, which is good news for little league coaches trying to get in some early season practices, before shower chances then start ramping up after midnight. Lows in the upper 30s to near 40. Northeast wind at 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday will start with showers in the area, but rain should diminish during the afternoon. Temperatures only rising a few degrees from early morning lows -- just topping out in the mid 40s. Northeast wind at 10 to 15 mph.
