Metro Detroit forecast: Light snow and slick roads

Roads are slippery this morning from rain and snow showers last night and cooling temps this morning.

There are a few light snow showers moving through, mostly north of Detroit and there will be more snow showers this afternoon. Temps this morning in the upper 20s feeling like teens or low 20s. The winds will start cranking from the NW 10-20 mph gusting to 30 mph at times. Snow showers may put down a dusting in spots and limit visibility briefly mainly in the afternoon.  We should get an occasional break from the clouds with some sun early this morning and at times this afternoon as highs max out in the low to mid 30s, feeling colder.

A somewhat similar set up for Thursday with teens to low 20s to start and then low 30s with fewer clouds and lighter winds. As the sun and clouds battle it out, no snow or dangerous wind chills are in the forecast. We will start warming Friday back into the low 40s with sun mixed with a few clouds and lighter winds.

We could be flirting with record high temps on Saturday! Look for a weekend full of sunny skies and temps well into the 50s Saturday through Tuesday. Saturday may get into the low 60s which would be the warmest of the next week ahead. Rain likely on Tuesday and Wednesday and then more winter-like weather will be back by the end of next week.  You can always take the weather with you with the Local4Casters app.
