Metro Detroit forecast: Wind chills in the teens

Big weekend changes coming

Cool and cloudy to start your Thursday with very light snow coming down through the mid morning. We are waking up to temps in the low and wind chills in the teens around Metro Detroit on the last cool day we will have for another week. Highs today only manage the low to mid 30s and we should get into some sunshine this afternoon. The winds are relaxing today NW 6-12 mph, and that will help diminish lake effect clouds and flurries later this morning.

Friday will be chilly only during the early morning hours as we wake up to mid to upper 20s tomorrow. We will end the work and school week warming with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 40s. We may see a late day surge to near 50 degrees with a warm front moving through.

We will see a great deal of sunny skies Saturday and Sunday and the warmth will likely stick around most of the week ahead too. Saturday will be near 60 degrees with a warming wind SW 5-15 mph helping us take aim at that record. Sunday will be only a bit cooler with a cool front moving through Saturday night without any wet weather around.
