Metro Detroit is clearing up and cooling off

Highs will be in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees Friday

Farmers say, "Dry begets dry" -- which means when it's been dry it will likely stay dry.

The cold front and rain heading our way yesterday was almost completely eaten up by our dry air and those who got showers saw them exit early this morning. So, plenty of sun this Friday with highs near 80 degrees and light winds NNE 5-10 mph.

Patchy fog will be around early Saturday which may be an impact on anyone driving to the lake house tomorrow morning. We'll need plenty of sunscreen this weekend with nearly wall to wall sunshine and highs in the 80 degree range. Overnight lows all weekend will be in the 50s so we can give the AC a break for a couple of days. It will be warmer Sunday with low to mid 80s possible and even warmer next week.

Some computer model data is hinting at 90 degrees in Detroit Monday. It is possible, but likely in the upper 80s with more humidity. There may be a few isolated showers Monday but a better chance for wet weather Tuesday and Wednesday ahead.
