Metro Detroit weather: Big warmup this weekend

DETROIT – A cool start to your Friday around Metro Detroit with temps in the upper 20s to low 30s as you head out.

High clouds will keep our temps from dipping this morning and a warm front will be approaching today as we begin a warm up. Highs will likely stay in the low to mid 40s with sun and several waves of high clouds moving across. Winds from the east E 5-10 mph off of the big lakes will keep that warm front away most of the day keeping our temps from taking off.

We may hit or tie the record high temps in Detroit on Saturday which is 62 degrees. Mostly sunny skies Saturday with a high hitting at least 60 degrees and with the warming breeze becoming SW 5-15 mph, we will take aim at that record.  Sunday will be only a bit cooler with a cool front moving through Saturday night. Neither rain nor dramatic temperature drops will occur with that Cold Front as we end the weekend with low to maybe mid 50s.

A dry and mild President’s Day again in the low 50s and mostly sunny.  Rain likely on Tuesday afternoon the 50s stick around until we hit next weekend when we return to winter-like Metro Detroit.  You can always take the weather with you with the Local4Casters app.
