Metro Detroit weather: Beautiful 4th of July weekend

DETROIT – While this morning’s rain was welcome, we’re still in a significant rainfall deficit over the last 60 days.

And it’s going to be awhile before we get another shot at getting wet.

Tonight, what’s left of our morning clouds will be fading. We’ll be clear for most of the night. Temperatures will be cooler, in the low-to-mid 50s.  Winds will relax as well.

Saturday starts a string of beautiful (but completely dry) days that will last into the second half of next week.  Expect mostly sunny skies and highs back in the low 80s on Saturday.  Sunday looks and feels almost exactly the same, just a few degrees warmer in the afternoon.

Monday, Independence Day, will feature sunshine mixed with clouds.  Highs will reach the mid 80s, while humidity stays low.

Temperatures keep moving upward through Thursday, which will bring our next chance of rain.  Humidity returns then as well.

Have a relaxing and safe 4th of July weekend!
