Metro Detroit weather: Chilly Tuesday start

We are waking up to a lot of 30s around Metro Detroit this Tuesday morning starting out on the cool side before we warm up.

You can expect to see a lot of sunshine and blue skies today with highs racing into the 60s for most. The cooler breezes SE 7-13 mph may keep some eastsiders in the upper 50s to low 60s, while those inland or should get well into the mid 60s or a bit warmer.

Parts of Metro Detroit will wake up to scattered rain and thundershowers Wednesday morning with a chance for a few storms to form producing heavy downpours and dangerous lightning. Right now, we are in a Marginal Risk for severe storms Wednesday as most of the showers and storms will be along and south of 8 Mile into the afternoon. Highs will climb into the low 70s in between rain chances as showers again will be spotty into the afternoon with many breaks.

There’s a better chance for more widespread showers Thursday as we stay in the warm sector and temperatures again in the upper 60s to low and mid 70s. The rain is the big factor on temps as it will be cooler during showers.  It will be noticeably cooler Friday as we end the week in the 40s and  50s with morning showers giving way to partly sunny skies. The weekend starts great with sun and low 60s Saturday and rain shower chances on Sunday.
