Metro Detroit Weather: Drop in temps expected, rain to arrive Saturday

DETROIT – That same front that brought us the 70s this afternoon, is about to bring us the 30s in some spots tonight.  In addition to the drastic temperature swing, showers and a few thunderstorms have fired along the front.

The thunder and lightning will fade by midnight, but showers will be become more numerous overnight.

Lows will range from the mid 30s in our North Zone to the mid 40s in our South Zone by morning.

Temperatures won't be moving much during our Saturday.  Highs will be in the mid 40s.  Rain continues through much of the day, with drier conditions expected by mid afternoon.

Sunday starts dry with temperatures on either side of 40 degrees, but rain comes back before lunch and sticks around for the rest of the day and evening.

Despite the gloomy and wet conditions, temperatures will get back to 60 degrees as that lingering front migrates back to the north.

We may see a few thunderstorms, too.
