Metro Detroit Weather: Cool, clear skies overnight

We’re less than 36 hours away from our only chance of rain until next week.

Tonight, clear skies continue. Winds will be light. Temperatures will be cool, but not as cold as last night. Check out some of Wednesday morning’s lows:

Expect temperatures to drop into the low-and-mid 50s. That’s still almost 10 degrees below average for this time of year.

Sunshine is back for an encore Thursday. That will get us slightly warmer, into the low 80s for highs.

Early Friday morning a cold front approaches from the northwest. Everything about it will be weak. So while there will be some scattered showers, they won’t last long and won’t turn your brown grass green. And yes, there will be many places that don’t see any raindrops. But whatever shows up will be long gone by lunch. Then dry conditions return for the weekend.

Saturday and Sunday, we’ll see plenty of sun with highs in the low-to-mid 80s.

Independence Day Monday is bringing some changes. It looks like there will be some showers south of us. So there’s a slim chance that areas near the Ohio state line could get wet in the afternoon. Don’t cancel your plans yet… I’m not super confident in the model’s placement of those showers. But I wanted to bring it up early.
