Metro Detroit weather: Could we see 80 degrees this weekend?

DETROIT – Clouds this Friday morning are again keeping temps from bottoming out into the 30s. Instead, we are waking up to low and mid 40s as you head out and a few 30s in our far North Zone or into the Thumb Region.

Those clouds will be somewhat stubborn today with a few breaks of milky sunshine and highs heading back toward 60 degrees or a bit warmer.

The winds E 5-10 mph keep eastsiders a bit cooler. A warm front will move in late tonight and overnight and that will begin the process of scattered showers and storms for the Easter Weekend. Look for a few scattered rain and thundershowers late tonight and overnight.

A surge of warmer air on Saturday means we could see 80 degrees in a few spots, but we will also have rain and thunderstorms… especially during the morning hours tomorrow.

We will also see a few scattered afternoon showers, but it won’t be an all day soaker as the afternoon should less active. At times, partly sunny and windy as the winds pick up in the afternoon South 10-25 mph.

Easter Sunday may start with some light showers delaying the Easter Egg Hunts with a fast moving cool front blowing through. Morning showers will give way to a nice afternoon clearing, breezy conditions and Easter Sunday high temps in the low 70s.

Looking ahead… Monday and Tuesday look very nice with highs in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.  We’ll keep you posted as we get closer to the Easter Holiday. You can always stay ahead of the Spring showers with our Local4Casters app.
