Metro Detroit weather forecast: Chances of rain, but not much

After ANOTHER 90-degree day, we’ll cool down slightly going into the weekend.

Thunderstorms will be falling apart as the sun sets tonight.  So there will be some areas, mainly north of M-59 that get a scattered thunderstorm.  The rest of us will have to keep our fingers crossed for late-week chances to pan out.  Overnight lows will be right around 70 degrees.

Friday, we’ll also have scattered thunderstorms around in the afternoon.  This time they’ll be in the southern half of the area.  Again, not everyone will get wet.  But with many of us recording about HALF of our normal rainfall for the last three months, any chance is better than nothing.

Weekend temperatures will be around average for this time of year.  Saturday, a scattered storm is possible, but most of the weekend is dry.

Heat starts building through next week.  Check the 10 Day Forecast for more above-average warmth.
