Metro Detroit weather forecast: Clearing out and cooling down

Lows drop into 50s

DETROIT – The last of Wednesday's showers -- and a few rumbles of thunder -- are gone. Clouds will be the next to exit. That will leave us mainly clear overnight and noticeably cooler. Lows will drop into the 50s -- about a dozen degrees cooler than last night.

Thursday will start bright but crisp, then clouds will return for much of the day. There might be just enough instability to trigger a few light scattered showers, mainly in our North and Metro zones. Highs will barely reach the 70s in most spots, but only the upper 60s in parts of our North Zone.

Temperatures will slowly increase into next week, but humidity will stay low. Highs will remain in the 70s through Saturday. The 80s return on Sunday.

Early next week, we’ll actually flirt with 90 degrees in a few spots -- all under dry conditions.

Our next chance of rain doesn’t return until next Wednesday.
