Metro Detroit weather: More warm weather, rain ahead

Temperatures stay in 40s

DETROIT – Metro Detroit has ditched the ice and gained 40-degree highs, and that's what will continue for the better part of the next week.

Dry and mainly cloudy conditions will continue until after midnight Tuesday. A wave will move through overnight bringing mostly rain, but a few snowflakes in our West or South Zones. There should be no accumulation, though. Temperatures will drop to the mid-30s by daybreak.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with highs in the low 40s. Winds will be light. Clouds will start breaking up late Wednesday, which might lead to some fog by early Thursday morning.

After any fog burns off Thursday, look for partly cloudy skies for the balance of the day. Highs will be in the mid-40s.

Rain will return for Friday, while highs stay in the mid-40s.

We’ll be even warmer for the weekend, hitting 50 degrees by Sunday afternoon. Right now, it looks as if most of the weekend should remain dry, with a possibility of some late showers on Sunday.

The temperature is expected to cool down in the 10-day forecast, but you have to hunt for it.
