Metro Detroit Weather: Rainy, chilly Thursday night

Warmer temps ahead in weekend

DETROIT – After lows in the teens in some spots last night, we'll enjoy temperatures close to 70 before the weekend!

Tonight, clouds will thicken up leading to overnight rain.  Any drops will be gone by sunrise.  Overnight lows will drop to the mid 30s early then slowly rise toward dawn.

Sunshine mixes with clouds on Friday as the wind cranks up.  That will boost temperatures to near 70 degrees (maybe a bit above in our South Zone).  Friday's record is 81 so we won't quite get there, but we'll still be nearly 20 degrees above normal.

The weekend is looking wet.

Two-day rainfall totals for Saturday and Sunday will top one inch in many locations.   Temperatures Saturday will range from near 50 in our North Zone to the low 60s in our South Zone.  Sunday should be more uniform with everybody in the mid 50s.

Temperatures settle down next week as we’ll generally stay in the 50s for the last week in March.
