Metro Detroit weather: Highs in upper 70s to 80 degrees today

DETROIT – Another very mild start with morning temps in the low to mid 50s as you head out under partly cloudy skies.

The stage is set for a warm Wednesday with afternoon highs heading into the upper 70s to 80 degrees under partly cloudy to partly sunny skies, and winds SE 7-15 mph gusting over 20 mph at times. We will see a few scattered rain and thundershowers across Mid Michigan and areas north, but we will stay dry today.

We should expect a few rain and thundershower chances tomorrow, but the coverage looks to be drying out and limited. This means, not all of us will see showers tomorrow, but a cool front will be approaching and moving through bringing those rain chances into SE Lower Michigan by late morning and early afternoon.  Highs should still be on the warm side of average into the low and mid 70s with gust south winds ahead of the cold front S 10-25 mph.

Friday will be a dry day with a chance for showers by evening and overnight. So mostly cloudy to end the work and school week with temps only a little cooler in the mid to upper 60s. Scattered showers this weekend -- especially Sunday afternoon.
