Metro Detroit weather: Warming to the 50s

DETROIT – Patchy dense fog around Metro Detroit and SE Lower Michigan this morning with temps in the mid 30s as you head out.

The fog will lift or burn off by 9am and we’ll see hazy sunshine turning to mostly sunny skies and warming Tuesday into the 50s. The winds will pick up late afternoon and evening, as a lackluster cold front blows through tonight.

A brief cool down Wednesday as morning temperatures start in the teens and 20s, and will likely not make it out of the mid 30s. The winds will bring a bite to the air through the morning N 5-15 mph creating a wind chill. There will be plenty of sunshine through the afternoon tomorrow and highs in the mid to upper 30s.

Get ready to warm up as we head toward the weekend. It’s a slow go as Thursday highs will stop in the low and mid 40s with sunshine turning to partly sunny skies. We will be near 60 degrees Friday, but scattered rain and thundershowers are likely around Metro Detroit to end the work and school week. More weekend showers are coming.
