DETROIT – A wind chilly start to your Thursday around Metro Detroit with 20s feeling like teens or even single digits in a few north suburbs.

Partly cloudy skies this morning become mostly cloudy through the afternoon and some snow showers will develop later in the day. We will see highs bounce back into the mid 30s with winds W 10-18 mph gusting a little stronger from time to time.

Snow showers this afternoon and evening

Snow showers this afternoon and evening may be enough to slow down the evening commute but won’t accumulate to much. A clipper system sweeps through quickly tonight and will enhance those snow shower. Still, limited moisture and light snow will be less than an inch around Metro Detroit with a few areas getting slightly heavier snow bands.

Friday forecast

We will likely wake up with another dusting of snow on the ground and cooler temps in the teens to low 20s feeling much cooler to start your Friday. Skies will become partly sunny tomorrow but highs will struggle to get out of the 20s barely warming into the low 30s for a short time. Winds will still be a bit pesky Friday WNW 7-15 mph keeping the wind chills in play all day.

Warming Weekend

We won’t warm until the end of the weekend as warmer air surges in Saturday Night. So Saturday temps in the teens to start warming into the low and mid 30s with a mix of sun and clouds and lighter winds. We warm into the upper 40s to low 50s Sunday starting with sun and finishing with clouds and a little bit of drizzle. Light rain possible Monday and the models show a bigger rain and thunderstorm chance on Tuesday.  You can always bring the Metro Detroit weather with you with our Local4Casters app.
