DETROIT - Sunday morning will be mostly cloudy with lows in the 60s. Lions fans will have dry conditions on the roads and in the parking lots when tailgating in downtown Detroit. Winds switching and coming from the northwest will clear out the humidity and clouds for the afternoon. It will also be cooler than the past few days.
Sunday afternoon will have blue skies, comfortable conditions and highs near 75 degrees outside Ford Field when the Detroit Lions host the Minnesota Vikings in their NFL home opener. Sailors will get a treat with a northwest wind 10 to 15 mph across all lakes big or small.
Sunday evening will be clear and cool with temps in the 60s. Venus will be visible a couple of hours after sunset, which is just before 8pm, near the crescent moon. Saturn will be visible Monday evening.
Sunday night lows under clear skies will reach the 50s by Monday morning.
Another warm up arrives early next week. Monday's afternoon temps will be near 80. Daytime temps will be near 90 or more on Tuesday. Then temps fall back into the 80s and 70s by Yom Kippur on Friday into Saturday. Sunset will be near 7:45pm ET, Friday.
