DETROIT – Saturday afternoon is filled with area activities, including a public Google Glass demonstration at MOCAD in Detroit, A Christmas Carol at Meadow Brook Music Theatre in Auburn Hills and the 3rd Classic Animation Festival in Redford. Skies will be mostly gray with a few areas of blue as the temperature rises just above average. Afternoon highs will be in the middle and upper 50s.
Saturday evening will be calm and mostly cloudy with temps in the low 50s. Comedy fans going to see Sarah Silverman at the Royal Oak Theatre will have dry roads to and from the show.
Saturday night will have storm clouds gather overnight with lows near 50.
Stormy weather arrives in Detroit and Southeast Michigan Sunday. The morning will have the first round of showers and storms, which will be rather tame compared to the afternoon and evening. Detroit and much of the Lower Peninsula has a "slight risk" of severe weather according to the National Weather Service. More intense showers and storms will form a line and race across Southern Lower Michigan from 3pm through 10pm. Heavy downpours, strong winds and dangerous lightning are expected.
Detroit Lions fans traveling to Pittsburgh for Sunday's game against the Steelers can expect warm, windy conditions. Sunday afternoon temps in the Steel City will be in the middle 60s. During the fourth quarter and after the game, the storms forming over Michigan and Ohio will plow through western Pennsylvania and across the Ohio Turnpike. Anyone driving or flying back should prepare for delays traveling back to Motown.
