Mild temps, plenty of sunshine for your Tuesday

DETROIT – High clouds and sunshine rule the rest of the day here making for a perfect Spring afternoon in the Detroit Metro Area.

High temperatures will climb into the mid 60s with light winds NE 5-12 mph which makes it feel a bit cooler on the east side. Mostly clear to partly cloudy skies tonight will make viewing the Aquarid Meteor Shower possible ... especially during the overnight.

Wednesday and beyond will be very spring like with highs in the 60s again tomorrow and a chance for a few rain and thundershowers.

The latest model data suggests the rain will be more of a problem north and west of our area. But, an approaching warm front will bring a few rain and storm chances the next few days. Keep the umbrella handy Wednesday with the best threat for wet weather into the late afternoon or evening.

Thursday will be a bit warmer with highs around 75° as some neighborhoods will be near 80°. We will see scattered rain and thunder midday Thursday but again, it will not be a washout.

We will likely see more rain and thunder in the area throughout your Friday with a cool front sweeping through. This will be our best bet for wet weather over the next week.
