DETROIT – Bitter cold temperatures will continue through the night, and the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for the I-69 corridor and points northward.
Actual temperatures tonight should be similar to what we had last night (averaging near zero), with wind chills of -10 to -20 degrees.

Then our attention turns to snow, with increasing west winds combined with an upper level disturbance crossing the Great Lakes tomorrow will regenerate what we call the I-94 / I-96 convergence band. The band is a stripe of lake effect snow that spreads eastward from the widest part of Lake Michigan.
Those of you who stay under the direct impact of this band may pick-up an inch or two of snow.
Outside of this band, snow amounts should remain a little lighter.

Afternoon temperatures Wednesday will be marginally better than today, and rise into the mid-teens. The wind chills will still be between 0 and -10 degrees.
So when do we finally return to milder temperatures?
20's will return for this coming weekend, and we'll be well into the 30's by Monday and Tuesday.
