DETROIT – There's an arctic cold front moving through on this MLK Day and temps will be going in the wrong direction.
Instead of warming into the afternoon, temps are dropping into the teens with single digit wind chills.
There are a few scattered, lake effect snow showers blowing in from Lake Michigan which will be seen more in our western suburbs closer to the source. Before you head out, layer up and expect a few flurries/light snow showers mixed in with clouds and sun.
A weak clipper system will pass just to our south late tonight and early Tuesday bringing a chance for a few light snow showers tomorrow. But, those snow showers will be mainly for our counties closer to the Ohio and Indiana borders.
Snow early north of I-94 is unlikely but not out of the question. Cold morning temps near zero will feel like -10 to -20 degrees as the kids head back to school. It will only warm up into the low teens while still feeling like near or below zero all day tomorrow.
Another chilly day Wednesday with scattered snow showers. Morning lows will be near zero and highs in the mid teens. Snow showers Wednesday will produce at least a coating which can still be problematic for our commutes. We'll keep you posted.
