More showers, storms for Detroit lawns

Highs near 80

DETROIT – Wednesday remains humid and warm with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Although waterlogged or compromised areas need to monitor rain amounts again, there is a lower possibility of severe weather than Tuesday.

Families with plans for the beach or water park will have partly sunny skies with highs in the low 80s in the afternoon. The one caveat is the recurrence of showers and thunderstorms. A couple of 30 to 60 minute windows of opportunity to play in the water may exist mid-day and during the early afternoon. The best thing to do is to download the Local4Casters App to track any storms on 4LiveRadar and to call ahead to make sure your destined venue is open.

Wednesday evening will have scattered, left-over showers and storms and temperatures in the 70s; low 70s in any rain-cooled air.

Wednesday night will be warm and humid with lows in the upper 60s. Some patchy fog may re-develop.

Thursday and Friday will be warm with chances of showers and thunderstorms each afternoon and evening. Highs will be near  or just above 80 degrees. Some wet weather may exist outside Ford Field before and during the first half of the Detroit Lions preseason Friday evening match against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Detroit and Southeast Michigan may get a break from the rain Saturday and Sunday. Each day will have partly sunny skies with highs in the low 80s.
