More storms possible, less likely to be severe

DETROIT – Wednesday remains humid and warm with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Although waterlogged or compromised areas need to monitor rain amounts again, there is a lower possibility of severe weather than Tuesday.

Wednesday morning will have temperatures in the 60s with some patchy fog and a few scattered showers. Some early-risers will need to be careful on wet pavement and in areas with lower visibility.

Families with plans for the beach or water park will have partly sunny skies with highs in the low 80s in the afternoon. The one caveat is the recurrence of showers and thunderstorms. A couple of 30 to 60 minute windows of opportunity to play in the water may exist mid-day and during the early afternoon. Wednesday evening will have scattered, left-over showers and storms and temperatures in the 70s; low 70s in any rain-cooled air.

Wednesday night will be warm and humid with lows in the upper 60s. Some patchy fog may redevelop.

Thursday and Friday will be warm with chances of showers and thunderstorms each afternoon and evening. Highs will be near or just above 80 degrees. Some wet weather may exist outside Ford Field before and during the first half of the Detroit Lions preseason Friday evening match against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Detroit and Southeast Michigan may get a break from the rain Saturday and Sunday. Each day will have partly sunny skies with highs in the low 80s.
