More sunshine and heat in Metro Detroit Thursday

It will feel like 105 degrees Thursday

DETROIT – The heat is hanging on for two more days. And, that's how long the Heat Advisory will last here in SE Michigan as humidity and temps well into the 90s again Thursday will bring the heat index temps near 105 degrees this afternoon.

Sunshine will mix with the billowing clouds in the heat of the day but fewer showers and storms are expected which can cool you off briefly. Winds will be calm SW 5-10 mph throughout the day. Make sure you find air conditioning and drink lots of water to prepare for this dangerous heat.

Friday is the start of a cooler transition. But it will once again be hot and humid with low to mid 90s expected ahead of a cold front. That front will sweep through Friday Night and bring some late afternoon and evening storms.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed all of Michigan in a Slight Risk for severe storms. We will keep a close eye on the developments for you with coverage on Local 4 News as well as clickondetroit.com

Saturday may start a bit steamy and stormy but a slow improvement through the day. Highs will be in the mid 80s to start the weekend and then upper 70s to low 80s Sunday with morning lows near 60 degrees. Sunday and Monday look like the most comfy in the next week.
