Brutal heat prompts advisory until 10 p.m.

DETROIT – The humidity and heat are on big time today.

The Heat Advisory continues for all of us until 10pm. That means mid 90s, near record highs, and a heat index near 105° or warmer.

Heat stress and stroke are going to be an issue for many sensitive groups today. Stay hydrated and as cool as possible.

Don’t forget to check on your family and neighbors of concern. Spotty storms may fire with the heat of the afternoon and could bring gusty winds along. Always keep an eye to the sky on these hot and unstable days.

Saturday will be a much more pleasant 90s if that makes sense. Humidity will be down and the sun will be bright. Expect highs in the low to mid 90s with a few clouds forming with the heat of the day.

We’ll see another round of spotty storms as we stay very warm through Sunday afternoon. Some showers may linger into early Monday.  Make sure you download the Local4Casters app with radar and storm updates, so you’re prepared all summer long.
