Saturday night will be mostly clear and chillier with lows in the 40s to near 50 degrees by Sunday morning.
Sunday will have more sunshine and it will be warmer. The mercury will rise to the middle and upper 70s. The scene will be spectacular outside the NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner at Cobo Hall in Detroit.
Showers and thunderstorms return early next week. Monday will be warm, again, with highs in the upper 70s. Skies will be partly sunny with showers and thunderstorms developing during the day. Detroiters must factor in extra time before going to the polls on Tuesday with the greater likelihood of wet weather, lightning and gusty winds. Wednesday will have lingering showers, and it will be the coolest day of the week with highs in the 60s. Sunshine returns with temperatures in the 70s Thursday and Friday.
