Mostly sunny and warm again Thursday

T-shirt weather with highs in the 70s

DETROIT – Sometimes stubbornness has its benefits. A large area of high pressure over the Northeast and eastern Michigan will not budge, and Detroiters are the beneficiaries with more sun and additional warmth Thursday.

The morning will be clear, cool and crisp with temperatures in the low 50s, and the afternoon will be mostly sunny and warm with highs near 75. Wind from the south will blow at 6 to 12 mph.

Thursday night will be clear and cool with lows in the 50s.

Friday will be bright and warm, again, with daytime temperatures in the low 70s.

When the Detroit Red Wings return to Joe Louis Arena for playoff hockey Saturday, cooler air arrives with partly sunny skies and highs near 65. Sunday will be cooler with some rain and highs in the low 60s.
