Temps drop rapidly after sunset

DETROIT – Sunday will have some sunshine and temperatures remain above zero. The rest of the week is a different story. Two more rounds of Arctic blasts return during the work-week.

Sunday evening will be partly cloudy with a flurry or two and temps dropping rather quickly from the 20s to the teens and single digits.

An Arctic rush of air arrives Sunday night with temps plummeting below zero again by early Monday morning. Overnight lows will be near -10 or lower. Wind chills will be below -15. 

Monday will be mostly sunny but extremely cold. Highs will be near 10, and wind chills will be at or below zero all day.

Tuesday morning will be frigid with lows near 0 and increasing clouds. Snow showers are possible later in the day, and southerly winds will boost temps to the low 20s.

Wednesday will be sunnier with temps in the teens. A second infusion of polar air will arrive Thursday and Friday. Morning and overnight lows will be well below 0, again. Afternoon highs will be near 10 or in the teens.
