Partly sunny skies with scattered rain Friday

Highs will reach near 80 degrees

DETROIT – Most of the rain and thunder this morning is moving through our northern counties into the Thumb Region. But, we will see pockets of fog and drizzle this morning with mild temps mainly in the 60s as you head out.

Partly sunny skies will boost afternoon highs to near 80 degrees with light winds S 5-10 mph. That heat and a nearby stationary front will cause a few scattered rain and thundershowers in the afternoon and early evening. So grab the rain gear for Friday night high school football just in case.

We will see more scattered showers on Saturday with highs again near 80 degrees. Saturday night and Sunday will be the wettest period around Metro Detroit in the next week or so. We will see some soaking rains as we tap into a bit of moisture from Tropical Storm Karen as a frontal system cruises through.

That cold front will drop temps a bit on Sunday as highs will struggle in the 70 degree range, which is still mild for early October. More periods of heavy rain are possible on Sunday. And we will be back to seeing 50s and 60s for the start of next week. Go Tigers!
