DETROIT -

We have calm conditions around this Monday morning with upper 50s to low 60s to start your day.

Rain showers are south of us now and the beginning of the day ahead will be dry.

Those showers to our south will be creeping north throughout the day. This means our southern counties closer to the Ohio border may see a few late morning or early afternoon rain showers with an isolated rumble of thunder.

Metro Detroit won't likely see rain until the afternoon and evening and the showers will once again be scattered about the area. High temps will reach the comfortable mid to upper 70s with NE winds 7-15mph.

The timing of rain for Metro Detroit depends on its arrival in the southern part of the state.

Tuesday will start wet with rain pouring in overnight and lasting into the morning hours. We will likely see a few soaking showers making minor road flooding a concern for the morning commute.

Hit and miss showers last into the afternoon as highs again only reach the mid to upper 70s while it's not raining. Rain cooled air will knock temps down whenever we see it late Monday through late Tuesday.
