Metro Detroit will see plenty of sun Friday

Highs near 70

DETROIT – There's a little patchy fog and low cloud cover over the area early this morning. But, temps are very mild as you head out in the mid 40s to low 50s to start your Friday. We will see plenty of sun this afternoon as the Detroit Tigers are home for another afternoon game. Don't forget the sunscreen if you're going to be out for a few hours later today as highs hit 70 degrees or warmer. Winds will be on the lighter side WNW 5-10 mph.

The weekend ahead keeps Metro Detroit warming into the low 70s perhaps again tomorrow. It will be a bit like today with a few clouds or foggy spots early Saturday. And then, a sunny and warming afternoon. Winds will start light Saturday and pick up heading into Sunday with an approaching storm.

There is a growing chance for rain showers moving into Metro Detroit late Sunday into Monday. Get your outdoor stuff done during the first half of the day Sunday as showers and storms will roll in by the mid to late afternoon as temps are a bit cooler near 60 degrees. Winds will start cranking SE 10-25 mph.

There will be a few rain chances next week as we cool off a bit.
