DETROIT – In the United Kingdom, today is known as Boxing Day – a day off for servants, who would normally receive a gift.
Here in America, it's known as Head-To-The-Mall-And-Exchange-Those-Gifts-That-Don't-Fit-Or-Take-Advantage-Of-Post-Christmas-Sales Day. I think it's easier to say Boxing Day. Regardless of your purpose, today is going to be a fine day for whatever you have planned, with a mix of sun and clouds, and pleasant temperatures in the low to mid 40s! South-southwest wind at 8 to 12 m.p.h.
Clouds increase and thicken tonight, with some patchy drizzle possible toward morning. Lows in the mid 30s (well above freezing, so you don't have to worry about any freezing drizzle). South-southwest wind at 5 to 10 m.p.h.

Cloudy on Saturday with areas of drizzle during the first half of the day, and then scattered light showers developing during the afternoon. This won't be a lot of rain like we saw on Christmas Eve…I think we'll be under a tenth of an inch of total rain. Very mild, with highs in the upper 40s.
Showers end Saturday evening as a cold front swings through. Lows in the low 30s.
Partly cloudy and cooler on Sunday, with highs in the mid 30s. Partly cloudy Sunday night, with lows in the mid 20s.
Mostly cloudy on Monday as an even stronger cold front passes by. It's a moisture-starved dry front, so I only expect some increased cloud cover, and no precipitation. Highs in the low 30s. Becoming partly cloudy Monday night, with lows near 20.
Partly cloudy on Tuesday, with highs in the mid 20s. Partly cloudy Tuesday night, with lows in the mid teens.
Partly cloudy and windy on Wednesday, with highs in the mid 20s. New Years Eve should be dry, but cold with temperatures falling to near 20 by midnight, and with lows by Thursday morning in the mid to upper teens. If you'll be out celebrating, please follow my example and don't drink if you'll be driving, or have a designated driver in your group that you can count on. I've always taken pride in being able to have as good of a time celebrating without drinking as everybody else, and knowing that I'm in control of the situation and will get myself and everybody who's with me home safely. I really want you to think about the many negative potential consequences that result from driving drunk, and ask yourself if it's worth it.
Partly cloudy and windy on New Years Day, with highs near 30.
