Rain expected this weekend in SE Michigan

DETROIT – Clouds and a few areas of light drizzle this morning as most of you around Metro Detroit begin to dry out with mild temps in the low to mid 50s as you head out.

Friday afternoon skies go from mostly cloudy to partly cloudy, which means afternoon temps will take off quickly to 70 degrees or a bit warmer and winds NW turning SW 5-10 mph. A dry day Friday with a chance for showers overnight tonight.

A fast moving rain maker from the Rockies will blow through parts of Metro Detroit early Saturday morning with areas near the Ohio border seeing the best chance. Rain showers will fade by 7 a.m. leading to another nice day tomorrow.  Saturday brings a little more heat and humidity with partly sunny skies into the afternoon and temps in the mid to upper 70s and winds SW 5-12 mph.

Rain showers are much more likely Sunday both in the morning and then again in the afternoon with a few breaks in the action. SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario are under Marginal Risks for Severe Weather which means we could see a few storms with damaging winds and small hail. This is the day we keep our eyes to the skies and prepare for a few delays in outdoor plans.

Memorial Day is looking better and better with partly cloudy skies and highs in the low to mid 70s. We have taken rain chances out but stay tuned in case of any alterations to the Holiday Weekend forecast. Stay ahead of Spring Storms with our Local4Casters app.
