DETROIT -

After a week of sunshine, clouds return for a day. The gray skies are linked to the system that brought an astounding amount of rain to Texas and The Gulf. Thank goodness sunshine returns with higher temperatures before the weekend finishes.

Saturday morning will be cloudy with temperatures in the 50s and low 60s at dawn. Noon-time temps will be closer to 70, but the chance of rain increases. Raindrops are likely to fall after breakfast-time, starting over the big lakes and the eastern areas of Macomb, Monroe, St. Clair and Wayne Counties. It will be tough for boaters on Lake Erie, Lake Huron and Lake St. Clair.

Saturday afternoon will be relatively cool and wet. Rain may affect the Detroit Tigers' game against Cleveland at Comerica Park. The first pitch is scheduled at 1:08pm ET. Diehard baseball fans will need their ponchos to stay dry. High temperatures will be between 70 and 75 degrees. The wind will blow from the east northeast 5 to 15 mph.

Saturday evening will be drier and mostly cloudy with temperatures in the upper 60s.

Mostly cloudy skies remain Saturday night as the mercury falls to near 60 degrees. It will be another good night to sleep with the windows up, giving the air conditioner a rest.

Sunday will be sunnier and warmer. Families can get out the sunglasses and sun screen as afternoon temps rise to the low 80s.

Summer-like weather remains Monday and Tuesday. In fact, it becomes hotter with highs in the middle 80s Monday and near 90 Tuesday. Folks can crank the A/C back on, and sun-lovers can head to the pool and the beach.

Showers and thunderstorms return Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the low 80s.
