Spotty, light showers for Tuesday afternoon

Temps will reach mid-50s

DETROIT –  Cool breezes are picking up and as the clouds increase this afternoon, temps will stabilize in the mid 50s. We should expect an occasional dip into the low 50s to upper 40s, especially as clouds thicken and the winds kick up.

Breezes will become stronger throughout the day NW 10-20 mph gusting close to 30 mph at times. Our brief clearing this morning will lose out to more clouds and a chance for light afternoon drizzle lingering into the early evening.

Wednesday will start off cool with lows near freezing and clear skies. Your sensitive vegetation should be okay as it won't be a hard, long cold period. Sunshine mixed with a few clouds tomorrow with highs only in the mid 50s. Low 60s are average highs as we hit the last week of April. Thursday too will be dry and staying a bit cooler than average. Highs will range from the upper 50s to near 60 degrees Thursday.

The next good chance for rain may come very late Thursday night and early on Friday. Friday highs will attempt to climb into the low 60s between rain showers. But the trigger for showers on Friday is another cold front that will keep temps on the cool side heading into the weekend.
