Rainy, cool Saturday in metro Detroit

Temps in the 60s

DETROIT – An Areal Flood Advisory has been issued for Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties until 11 p.m. Saturday. The National Weather Service says heavy rain may cause flooding in the area. Up to 1 inch of rain has already fallen.

Lenawee County was under an Areal Flood Advisory until 8 p.m. Saturday.

The weather takes a step backward as Detroit moves forward into the weekend. Saturday will feel like fall with gray skies, rain and cool conditions. Sunday will see a bit more sunshine, but temperatures will still be below average.

Saturday afternoon will have some heavier rain with a little thunder and lightning. Although thunderstorms will be few in number, lightning is always dangerous. Temps will remain in the middle and upper 60s. The wind picks up from the east, also. Sustained wind speeds will be between 15 and 25 mph.

A Lakeshore Flood Warning has been issued for Wayne and Macomb Counties until 10 p.m. Saturday. A Lakeshore Flood Warning is in effect for Monroe County. Homes on Lake Erie may experience some large, crashing waves and coastal flooding.

Saturday evening and Saturday night remain damp and cool with temps in the middle and low 50s.

Sunday morning will have leftover showers before it becomes slightly sunnier. The afternoon will be a bit milder with mostly cloudy to partly sunny skies. Highs will be in the low 70s with enough sun.
