DETROIT -

The last bits of this week's warmth, humidity and wetness will remain Saturday morning. Scattered showers will be moving out with temps near 70 degrees. Anyone with events that begin in the morning like the Belle Isle Conservancy's Belle Isle Summer Saturdays will need to remain alert for wet roads and highways with large puddles.

Relief finally arrives in the afternoon after a cold front crosses the region. It will remain warm with highs in the middle and upper 80s, but the oppressive humidity will vanish with bluer skies by dinnertime.

Dry roads will be a welcome sight for concert-goers off to see Jimmy Buffet at Comerica Park, Steve Miller Band at Freedom Hill in Sterling Heights or rapper M.I.A. at the Royal Oak Music Theatre. Evening temps will fall into the 70s.

Saturday night will be cooler and beautiful with lows near 60. Like last weekend, residents can sleep comfortably with the windows up.

Sunday will be mostly sunny, warm and spectacular with highs in the upper 70s. It will be perfect for little league baseball, softball and soccer games.

Monday and early next week will remain warm with no sign of oppressive heat or humidity returning. However, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday. Both days will have highs between 80 and 85 degrees.

Sunshine returns Wednesday and the rest of next week with great temps to be poolside. Afternoon readings on the thermometer will hover around 80 degrees or more.
