Scattered light rain, mist Sunday morning

DETROIT – The last Sunday of Summer 2014 will be a bit wet, but sunshine returns on the first day of fall and the rest of the week.

Sunday morning will be a bit soggy with with temperatures near 60 degrees. Families traveling to services will encounter some mist and fog with a light southwesterly wind. If any roads are flooded, it's best for drivers to find an alternate route.

As winds switch and blow from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph, cooler air will arrive. Highs will be near 70 degrees. Lingering instability will keep the chance of scattered showers around Sunday afternoon. Lions fans will need to be careful driving to and from Ford Field for their game against the Green Bay Packers.

Sunday evening will have the last of the showers as temperatures fall through the 60s into the 50s by midnight.

Sunday night will have clearing skies. Also, it becomes chilly with lows in the 40s by Monday morning. Monday afternoon will be sunny and much cooler with afternoon temps in the low 60s.

Fall 2014 begins at 10:29pm ET under clear skies.

Tuesday and the rest of the week will be bright and milder. Tuesday's temps will be in the middle 60s. Wednesday and the rest of the work week will be near or above 70 degrees with more sunshine.
