SE Michigan finally gets a weekend without rain

There will be sunny skies with light wind Saturday

DETROIT – Southeast Michigan will finally see a summer weekend without rain!

You can expect mostly sunny skies with light wind Saturday -- perfect for the Gold Cup races downtown, the Wyandotte Street Art Fair, the Southfield Festival of Hope Carnival, or whatever you have planned.

Remember to use sunscreen if you'll be out in the sun for an extended period of time, as the sun's rays will be intense this weekend, pushing the UV (ultraviolet) Index into the Very High range.

Highs Saturday will be in the mid-80s (Friday's high was in the low 80s). There will be mostly clear skies Saturday night, with lows in the mid to upper 60s.

It will be sunny to partly cloudy on Sunday, with highs in the upper 80s.  Then expect highs at or above 90 and overnight lows at or above 70 through the end of the week, with steadily increasing humidity. The upcoming week will be a very difficult one for those of you without air conditioning.  Our next chance for widespread rain is Thursday night or Friday.
