SE Michigan getting a break from the storms Thursday

Highs in the upper 70s

DETROIT – A different feel in the air this morning as we have cooled off. A cooler start and moisture from recent storms sets up patchy fog around Metro Detroit this morning through 8 or 9 am. It will be a great weather day with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees with lighter winds ESE 5-10 mph.

Most of Friday is dry and warming again in the low to mid 80s. There's a good chance for showers to develop or move in by the late afternoon and/or evening hours on and off through the night. Those showers and storms will be ahead of a cold front that will cool us off this weekend.

It is still a bit early to tell, but showers will linger on Saturday as that cold front moves through. Don't cancel your plans yet but know that rain could delay you at times. We will keep you updated as we get closer. Highs Saturday will be in the low to mid 70s and cooler Sunday.

Sunday looks dry and cooler with highs only in the mid 60s under partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. We'll update you as the models have been inconsistent on how to handle the early weekend rain chances.
