Severe thunderstorm warning for Macomb County canceled

More pop-up showers, storms forming

DETROIT – The National Weather Service canceled the Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Macomb County early Saturday afternoon. The nasty, mean-looking line of thunderstorms responsible for the alert has moved across St. Clair County and is racing into southern Ontario.

More scattered showers are forming in Lenawee, Monroe, Washtenaw and Wayne Counties. As of 1:18 p.m., these are not severe storms, but heavy downpours and lightning are possible. Detroit drivers must stay alert for ponding on roads and highways and low visibility. As always, "Turn Around, Don't Drown" is the moto for finding an alternate route to avoid any standing water.
