Here's the latest update from Local 4Caster Ben Bailey:
Intense downpours will be the biggest threatm as storms move toward Metro Detroit. Also, winds approaching 60 mph can't be ruled out. It looks any storms that pop up will move out by midnight. Then expect another round toward sunrise. Those early morning storms will be weaker. Some rumbles are still possible however.
As high temperatures touch 90 in spots this afternoon, we'll stay warm and humid through the evening. Overnight lows will drop near 70.
Friday, after the early morning thundershowers move out, we may see a few showers around midday, but they won't amount to much. The afternoon hours are looking dry. Highs will only get to the low 80s, once around noon, then again as clouds break behind a cold front in the early evening. Humidity will also drop with the passage of that front.
Our weekend is looking mainly dry. Both Saturday and Sunday we’ll have chances of a late-day shower. Temperatures will be noticeably cooler with highs in the mid 70s.
Monday, there’s still a chance of a shower. But highs will barely get to 70 degrees in the afternoon.
The 80s return with dry conditions by the middle of next week.
