Showers and strong storms possible Wednesday

DETROIT – Wednesday's weather will be active again, as we wait for afternoon heat to fuel some potentially strong storms.

So, the first part of the day will be warm and quiet with morning temps in the 60s and humid.

Not a great hair day as winds will be blowing steady SW 10-20 mph gusting to 30 mph separate from any storm chances.

It looks like the storm threat will be after 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. -- and the slight risk for severe weather is mainly on the east side of SE Lower Michigan. Highs in the low 80s and muggy but not quite as humid today.

Thursday looks dry and warm in the 80s again with a mix of hazy sun and puffy clouds with the heat of the afternoon.

Most of Friday is dry in the 80s as showers may move in by the evening hours on and off through the night and into early Saturday. It is still a bit early to tell, but showers may come to an end mid morning Saturday leaving most of the weekend cooler and dry.

Highs Saturday in the mid to upper 70s falling into the mid 60s on Sunday. We'll update you as the models have been inconsistent on how to handle the weekend rain chances. Right now, keep all of your outdoor plans with some possible delays early Saturday.
