Showers arrive Sunday afternoon

Highs closer to 70

DETROIT – The first half of Sunday will be the best time to be outdoors. Although chilly with temps in the 40s and low 50s, skies will be mostly sunny. Jackets will be needed to early birds to festivals or people off to morning services. 

Sunday afternoon will be cloudier but milder. Highs will be in the upper 60s. The Kansas City Royals take on the Tigers again. The game starts at Comerica Park at 1pm while the Detroit Lions are in Arizona to battle the Cardinals. There is a chance of showers, but they will arrive well after the first pitch. Scattered light to moderate showers are more likely by 4pm and afterward. Baseball fans may have wet roads after the ballgame.

Sunday evening will have scattered rain with temps in the 60s. A weak cold front moves through by the end of the night.

Wet weather pulls away Sunday night as temps fall into the 50s. It will be dry for folks heading back to work and back to school by dawn.

Monday afternoon will be sunnier and cool with highs in the middle 60s. Tuesday will be milder with more sunshine and highs near 70. The rest of the week will be a bit warmer with highs back in the middle and upper 70s. The next chance of rain is Wednesday and Thursday.
