Significant winter storm batters Michigan's U.P.

How will it affect SE Michigan?

DETROIT – Get ready for some big changes.

Tuesday is Veterans Day, which means a day off work or school for some, and it's going to be the warmest day we'll see in quite a while. That's perfect timing, except that it won't last long.

Read on:

No weather problems tonight, as skies will be partly to mostly cloudy, and temperatures will only fall into the low to mid 40s.

Veterans Day will start off nice, with perhaps a bit of sun and temperatures quickly warming into the 50s by late morning. Clouds will increase, which will slow our temperature climb, but we should still get close to 60 by mid afternoon. Rain showers will approach our western suburbs after 2:00-3:00 PM, and quickly progress eastward. South-southwest wind at 10 to 20 mph -- so it'll become breezy, too.
