Slight Risk for severe storms tonight

Most likely to happen after midnight

METRO DETROIT – There are a few widely scattered showers around SE Michigan and Southern Ontario Saturday evening, but the big storms are still off to our west. After midnight and likely closer to 3 or 4 a.m., thunderstorms will begin to overspread the area. Some of these storms will have damaging winds with gusts around 40 or 50 mph. Also, we may see some heavy downpours causing flash flooding.

The storms should be clear of the area by mid-morning Sunday and the rest of the day will be quite nice. Highs will only hit mid 80s with much lower humidity. Winds will be strong at times out of the NW 10-20 mph and skies will become mostly clear through the afternoon Sunday.
